As we head into 2009 we have started to see a real pick up in business - hopefully this is a leading indicator for improvement in general business conditions. 

Many companies that effectively froze projects and key decisions in late 2008 due to uncertainty have now come to terms with the new busienss environment and are getting on with their plans (albeit with a much more conservative outlook).

A couple of areas we have wseen recent activity in are explored in this newsletter.

Funding and Economics of Large IT Projects: We have seen businesses push ahead with their long term infrastrucutre plans - recognising that business has to continue through both the ups and downs - and we have been helping them with the economics of their investment decisions to make sure the investment has a solid, long term financial basis.

In Defence of Profit Improvement Programs (PIPS): This article looks at the variety of profit improvement exercises organisations use and the mixed results that are experienced.
