Public Sector Experience

We have worked on a number of projects in the public sector, namely Higher Education and Health and Medical Research.

 


Higher Education

Performed a cost mitigation strategy development project for the IT department of a major Australian university, including a review of expenditure, addressing both internal cost based view together with understanding the key faculty / client needs and attitudes towards the IT group.  This included a number of discussions with other Universities.

DOHA

Performed the role of the secretariat for the Investment Review of Health & Medical Research, which resulted in a ~$1bn increase in Government investment. Read more about this in our Featured Thinking article.

Development of corporate portfolio strategy, corporatisation advice, business unit strategy, contract negotiation, investment strategy, growth strategy, M&A and training.



Health Service

Provided negotiation advice and contract valuation.

 

HMR Impact Review

HMR Impact Review

The Australian Government commissioned a Review to examine the impact of the Wills Review on the Health & Medical Research (HMR) sector in Australia.  Eight members of the Pacific Strategy team were key members of an integrated secretariat team that applied the fact based problem solving discipline to the issues confronting the Review.
