Christian Zahra is an Executive Director of Pacific Strategy Partners and has provided high-level strategic and public policy advice to some of Australia's largest corporations, peak bodies and not-for-profit organisations.
He has led engagements across a wide range of sectors, including public infrastructure, resources and energy, communications, health services, forestry, regional development and agriculture
Specialising in the alignment of public policy imperatives and business strategy, Christian has extensive experience across business and government and is highly regarded by senior leaders in both sectors for his innovative approach to resolving complex problems.
Christian is Chairman of the Australian Government's $1 billion Regional Development Australia Fund Advisory Panel, a Director of the Regional Australia Institute, and a Member of the Australian Government's Ministerial Advisory Council on Regional Australia.
From 1998 to 2004 Christian represented the Federal electorate of McMillan in regional Victoria. During this time he served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Transport & Regional Development and the Shadow Minister for Communications.
Before entering the Parliament, Christian was CEO of an Aboriginal Health and Housing service in Gippsland. He has also served as a Director of the Victorian Energy Networks Corporation and as Chair of the Victorian Government's Sustainable Timber Industry Council. Christian is currently a Director of the Mary MacKillop Foundation.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Bachelor of Economics from La Trobe University and a Master of Assessment and Evaluation from the University of Melbourne.
